French Speaking Legal Secretary

The Legal Secretary will perform a variety of secretarial duties:

-maintains positive contact with clients, attorneys, and staff at all times
-providing comprehensive secretarial support functions for attorneys and/or paralegals
-managing attorney/paralegal communications as requested
-at attorney's direction, preparing materials such as correspondence, manuscripts, minutes, finance documents, and general forms
-coordinating travel
-organising and consistently maintaining attorney/paralegal files in a timely manner (e.g. billing, expenses, client matter, etc.)
-assisting visiting clients with secretarial support needs and may provide additional support to assigned practice groups
-assisting with special projects when necessary
-performing such other tasks and duties as may be required from time to time commensurate with the position in the firm

A high school diploma or equivalent, as well as relevant secretarial qualifications are required. Significant legal secretarial experience is preferred. The successful Legal Secretary will have well developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact and communicate effectively with clients and staff at all organisational levels of the firm; ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus; ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion; organisational skills needed to manage time well, prioritise effectively, and handle multiple deadlines; strong communication skills, both written and verbal; strong typing skills; and ability to use online, web-based research database tools.
