Field Application Specialist

Our client, a major Medical Technology player focusing on women’s beauty and health is expanding their presence in Germany and is looking for a Field Application Specialist in MOLECULAR or CERVICAL HEALTH to join their team.

As a Field Application Specialist, you will be involved in and responsible for on-site installation, customer training, education and troubleshooting of the Client’s products including consumables, instrumentation and applications. 

The role will support customers in all aspects of product implementation, working alongside sales representatives, coordinating customer adaptation and implementation of technology. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation of equipment

  • Education and training on product line

  • Work with sales representatives for standard menu training and implementation & assist with selling process in laboratories

  • Provide troubleshooting assistance and be available for tech support needs.

  • Work independently to coordinate training, troubleshooting and maintenance support to customers while being responsive to customer

  • Support and develop strong customer relationships by acting as a liaison between the customer and various departments with the Company.

  • Monitor and report important activities (technical developments, trends within key accounts, seminars, training sessions, etc.) back to the relevant Company division.

  • Abide by training and complaint handling SOPs to ensure consistency amongst all new and existing accounts

  • Maintain customer data base with up to date information on site visits and customer contact information

  • Maintain clear and complete records of procedures to comply with all elements of the Company Quality System relevant to the position.

  • Represent the Company at conferences, shows, workshops and seminars locally, regionally or nationally, as necessary

  • Conduct in house trainings for co-workers to assist in furthering knowledge of Client product line

  • Assist with developing presentation materials for training or customer materials.

  • Provide support to product/clinical studies

  • Represent the Company at trade association meetings to promote products

  • Perform other related duties as assigned ad-hoc by management

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (Cytology/Pathology) or equivalent

  • Minimum 5 years’ previous experience working in a cytology/cervical health laboratory setting

  • Up-to-date proven experience with automation equipment/instrumentation

  • Ability and willingness to travel in the field

  • Technical competency with the ability to stay current in technical knowledge to troubleshoot technical questions from customers and provide information back to the customer in a helpful, courteous, positive and professional manner

  • Proven planning and execution skills

  • Proficient in MS Office – Outlook, Excel Word, PowerPoint

  • Strong proven teaching/training skills to transfer knowledge and expertise to others

  • Independent self-starter with positive attitude

  • Ability to interface and work effectively with all levels of the organization, vendors, customers

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision and with other team members in a cooperative manner.

  • Fluency in English & German – verbal and written

  • Valid driving licence and passport
