Our client is an international, data-driven payments consultancy working together with companies and advising and supporting them on how to improve their payment arrangements and how to reduce costs. Due to growth in the company, they are now expanding and recruiting for a Business Development Executive DACH based in their Düsseldorf office.

Your new duties and responsibilities

As the new Business Development Executive, you will be an integral part of the sales team. You will be responsible for engaging with senior decision makers and to awaken their interest in the services offered. You will develop and qualify opportunities through research, prospecting, needs analysis and defining requirements. Working closely together with the country manager, the role is key in gaining the commitment from executives and to convert that commitment to opportunities worth six/ even figures.

The approach to business development is based on strategic content marketing (Account Based Marketing - ABM). This will include research, analysis and targeted content to a smaller number of key contacts. The key is a smaller number of qualified leads and quality based content and not a large number of for example cold calls.

Other day-to-day duties will include:

  • Email and gain commitment from c-level contacts
  • Pitch the services in an engaging way through the sales channels
  • Work towards targets
  • Take ownership of marketing and business development campaigns whilst working closely with marketing, CRM, and design teams
  • Desire to understand the business needs of the potential clients
  • Work with the company CRM system
  • Work closely with the field sales team, Head of ABM, marketing and commercial teams
  • Become an efficient expert on the company’s products and services
  • Continues market- and competitor research

 

Your profile

As the new Business Development Executive, you should have some first experience in similar type of role within business development, lead generation, market research.

You do not have to come from a payments background, but any knowledge within economics or finance is of advantage. Also, if you have experience working with merchants and retailers in the past, that is a bonus.

The ideal candidate should also have the following qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent level of studies
  • Experience working towards C-Level executives
  • First experience in a similar role
  • Experience in Account Based Marketing is of advantage
  • Ability and experience working towards targets
  • Experience and/ or knowledge within finance or economics is of advantage, but not necessary
  • Excellent customer relations, verbal and written communications skills
  • Fluent German and very good English skills
