Design Assurance Engineer

Our client, a leading Automated Cash Management solutions provider is currently looking for a Design QA Engineer, to be based in their Portuguese office, who will be responsible for the testing of software solutions that interact with Electro-Mechanical components.

The position encompasses Developing the Test plans through to supporting the development team with recommendations, reporting on reliability issues and contributing to project planning in a financial technologies environment.

Responsibilities

-Investigating Original Equipment and Manufactured (OEM) based on product development requirements.
-Developing test plans based on technical specifications.
-Setting-up, Executing , and Documenting tests.
-Developing product integration test plans.
-Helping to test equipment platforms and systems.
-Communicating issues to the development team following resolution.
-Reporting on reliability performance outputs, design quality , stress , usability , regression and other test requirements for the software.
-Analysing and improving solutions cost and adoption of new technologies.
-Travelling occasionally within Portugal and overseas to carry out on-site testing and follow-ups post-implementation.
-Contributing to product planning for a world renowned financial product range that will be used in thousands of banks worldwide.

Requirements

-A degree in Electronics or Software oriented.
-Familiar with international compliance standards like UL/IEC
-Good IT skills , report and presentational skills.
-Methodical, precise and thorough approach essential in an accuracy focused position.
-Able to work to tight deadlines and to sometimes handle stress on project work.
-Experience in using test equipment and control.
-Preferably experienced for at least 2 years in a similar role within product design assurance in a Financial , Banking or Retail related sector.
-Able to travel from time to time.
-Windows background experienced.
-Programming knowledge is beneficial but not essential.
-Very good communications skills in Portuguese and English.
-Teamwork attitude but able to work to own initial , autonomously , when required.
-Proficient in test tools such as DFMEA , Fish Bone, DOE, 8D etc…
-Familiarity with XFS /CEN is preferred.
-Strong planning and analytical skills.
-Enjoys working in a multicultural team and company environment.
