International Pre-Sales and Business Development Engineer

In this context our client is looking for a remote-based International Pre-Sales and Business Development Engineer who will develop and expand their specialist drainage product range in the UK , whilst also supporting UK engineering consultancies expanding their services to the Middle East and India, who may benefit from our client's local teams in these regions.

This is a superb opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer , with a strong grasp of the Construction industry and new technologies, as well as good knowledge of UK Drainage standards and regulations, to combine their interests in a position that will provide varied challenges. You will also have opportunities for international training at our client's HQ in Germany and with counterparts in the Middle East.

Please see below the responsibilities in this opportunity :

*Development and expansion of our client's portfolio of products into international engineering, architectural and construction consultancies in the UK.
*Pursuing the integration of our client's products into the design of national/international projects ( with consultants, architects and developers for hotels, restaurant chains and similar)
*Creation of a multinational network of internationally active engineering consultants /consultancies and architects.
*Close interaction and transfer of all in-country related information and project leads to our client's sole distribution partner to the UK and Ireland.
*Transfer of international leads to our client's sales partner or sales manager in the concerned location.
*Planning, scheduling and holding of technical training seminars.
Product specific responsibilities :
*Knowledge of British standards and regulations relating to plumbing, drainage and wastewater.
*Work towards including our client's products included on tender and vendor lists.
*Gathering market trends and intelligence on product related developments and forwarding these to the Product Management team.
*Competitor product analysis /comparison to our client's equivalent product.

Marketing :

*Continued promotion and development of our client's brand awareness at a UK and international level.
*Creation of ideas /recommendations/concepts for country specific marketing tactics/activities.
*Expansion of consultant/architect/customer network via social media channels and networking ( existing knowledge of this market is highly valued !)
*Organisational support for our client's consultant related events in the UK.

Geographical focus :

*Primarily in the Greater London area.
*Metropolitan areas including Manchester and Birmingham etc…
*NB there are no interactions with British Water authorities, this is handled by our client's UK partner.

Qualifications, skills and experience required :

*Mechanical or Civil Engineering or Technical degree or equivalent.
*At least one long-term experience in a similar position focused on or relating to Drainage products.
*An existing network in the British engineering consultancies, architects and developers sector.
*A demonstrable track-record of previous successes and achievements
*MS Office knowledge /skills.
*Marketing knowledge and experience.
*A valid UK driver's license /clean police record.

*An outgoing, approachable personality , you enjoy interaction and creating new business relationships.
*Level headed , empathetic.
*Commercially minded.
*Technically oriented.
Location : Remote based in London or within the Greater London /commutable area. You should be able to travel to Germany once a quarter for meetings with your manager in their office near Munich.
