Our client, a world-leading economic consultancy, is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join their team in central Paris.

 

You will be a key member of the European IT team, delivering responsive, high-quality technical support to professional staff. You will be the main point of contact for all technical support issues in the Paris office and will support the smooth operation of end-user technology across other European locations. The role reports into the team manager based in London. Candidates must therefore have an excellent command of both French and English.

 

Candidates should have experience in technical support for consulting, legal or professional services firms, along with strong knowledge of Active Directory, Windows 11 operating systems, the Microsoft Office suite, and ServiceNow.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a technology support advocate for staff, with a primary focus on the Paris office as well as other European locations.
  • Log, prioritise and resolve IT tickets using ServiceNow, keeping users updated.
  • Install, set up, and troubleshoot software on laptops and mobile devices.
  • Provide audio and video conferencing support, including troubleshooting in-room and remote meeting technologies.
  • Provide onsite IT support, including desk setups and office moves.
  • Support and administer Active Directory and related Windows-based services.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of workstation and server operating systems.
  • Troubleshoot and support local and wide area network connectivity, including LAN/WAN concepts and data communications protocols.
  • Take ownership of assigned applications, systems, and local office IT infrastructure, ensuring reliability, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and improve local IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Partner with global IT colleagues to support local office technology needs.
  • Follow internal IT processes and suggest improvements where needed.

 

Profile required:

  • Fluent in English and French (essential).
  • Computer Science degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting a 50+ person consulting, legal, or professional services environment
  • Solid experience with Active Directory and Windows 11 operating systems.
  • Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint), Microsoft Cloud Services (Azure), ServiceNow and strong remote support experience
  • Experience with Apple products is a plus.
  • An interest in AI and infrastructure systems is a plus, but not mandatory.

  • Strong customer service mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of leading-edge personal computers, software, printers, and networking and communications interfaces and relationships.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks/tickets in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working under tight deadlines and in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and clearly explain them to others.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and collaborative team player.

 

Salary and working conditions

  • Salary 40K€ - 60K€ depending on experience + benefits
  • Hybrid working model with 2 days working from home.
  • Occasional weekend cover required (once every 6 weeks)
