1,200 - 1,400 BHD per month package + healthcare + annual flights for expatriates

Are you a French and English-speaking accountant with experience supporting accounting operations for UK and/or Belgian entities? Do you have hands-on experience with VAT, tax compliance and statutory reporting and enjoy working in an international environment?

Euro London is recruiting on behalf of an international organisation with operations across Europe, the Middle East and North America.

This is a standalone position responsible for the accounting, reporting and compliance activities of the company's UK and Belgian entities. Working alongside a small finance team in Bahrain, you will act as the key finance contact for both entities and play an important role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

The role:

This opportunity would suit an accountant looking to take ownership of a broad finance remit, covering financial accounting, reporting, taxation, compliance and business partnering responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Full ownership of accounting and reporting activities for UK and Belgian entities
• Month-end close and financial reporting
• VAT and tax compliance
• Balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
• Budgeting and forecasting support
• Variance analysis and management reporting
• Liaising with auditors, tax advisors, banks and regulatory bodies
• Supporting process improvements and strengthening financial controls
• Working closely with senior management and international stakeholders

About you:

We're looking for an adaptable and proactive finance professional who is comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for multiple legal entities.

To be successful, you'll have:

• Fluent French and English language skills
• 4-6 years' experience in finance or accounting
• Previous experience supporting UK and/or Belgian entities
• Hands-on experience with VAT returns, tax compliance and statutory reporting
• Strong understanding of UK and/or Belgian accounting requirements
• Experience working within multi-entity and/or international organisations
• Month-end close and financial reporting experience
• Strong balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger experience
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
• ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent qualification (advantageous)

Please note: Previous exposure to UK and/or Belgian accounting, VAT and compliance regulations is essential. Candidates without experience of either jurisdiction are unlikely to be suitable.
