Senior Business Development Manager - Maritime / Offshore / Environmental Data Solutions

This role is aimed at senior commercial professionals with a proven background in maritime, offshore, marine data, environmental services or similarly regulated technical sectors. Generalist SaaS, IT, recruitment, retail, FMCG or purely transactional sales profiles are unlikely to match the requirements of this search.

Location: France or Europe

Travel: Approx. 20–30% across Europe with willingness to travel internationally when required.

Our client is an international technology company combining AI, data analytics and maritime expertise to support ocean industries with operational efficiency, regulatory compliance and sustainability challenges. They are hiring a Senior Business Development Manager to drive new business growth internationally. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the role focuses on opening new markets, building senior relationships and closing long-cycle, consultative deals.

Key responsibilities :

  • Develop a qualified pipeline of new B2B opportunities across Europe
  • Target senior decision-makers within maritime, offshore, environmental, marine data or regulated industrial markets
  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through to negotiation and close
  • Lead complex consultative sales conversations with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Build strong value propositions in collaboration with technical, product, legal and bid teams
  • Support and coordinate tender submissions in partnership with the Bid team
  • Identify priority sectors, target accounts and regional growth opportunities
  • Represent the company credibly with senior stakeholders across technical and regulated environments

 Required profile:

  • Proven track record in new business development, hunting and direct B2B sales
  • Previous experience selling into maritime, offshore, offshore wind, fisheries, marine data, environmental services, compliance-led solutions or a closely related sector is essential
  • Strong understanding of complex sales cycles, enterprise stakeholders and technical decision-making environments
  • Ability to sell value-driven solutions rather than transactional products
  • Experience working with tenders, proposals or multi-stakeholder commercial processes would be highly relevant
  • Fluent English is essential, French is an advantage but not required

Salary & benefits:

  • Base salary up to €100,000 depending on experience
